ABOUT SMS StuCo
Welcome! We are the 2016-2017 Shawnee Mission South Student Council Exec Board and Sponsors. We are in charge of planning important events for SMS such as:
- Dances
- Homecoming Parade
- Canned Food Drive benefitting the Johnson County Christmas Bureau
- Holiday Party for children in the Headstart program
- Walk a Mile in Her Shoes Event for Safe Home
- And many other events to support our community and promote school spirit!

Shawnee Mission South
Shawnee Mission South was the fourth high school to join the Shawnee Mission School District. Last year was our 50th anniversary, and the entire school participated in special events to celebrate the year such as the Human Logo pictured on the left.

About Our Sponsors
Cynthia Hartwell is a Spanish 2 teacher in her third year of teaching. Ms. Hartwell is a South graduate. In addition to helping Student Council, Hartwell plays the trumpet and helps the Rompin Stompin Raider Band and the Theatre Department.
Joseph Cline is an English teacher at Shawnee Mission South. When he's not helping Student Council, Cline is the coach of the Boy's Golf team.
